Customer's postcode is used to deliver the food to their homes, it is important for Just Eat to keep them safe and prevent their data from being breached or shared that could endangered customers.

Cyber security:

There were multiple cyber threats against Just Eat Takeaway.com recently. On February 2021, there has been multiple reports of fake emails with gift cards. This is a concern because the person behind this must know that the customer use Just Eat and their email address first before sending phishing scams. The fake emails will send customers to a phishing website where they can steal personal information and use it maliciously. On March 2020, hackers attacked Liefrando (German-based Just Eat Takeaway.com) and launched distributed denial of service (DDOS) attack and overwhelm Liefrando's systems with request. The hackers demand two bitcoin to stop the attack.

For Just Eat Takeaway.com to improve their security systems, they can improve their antivirus software on their system check any presence of malware and eliminate them. Or they could improve their unified threat management (UTM) systems which is a type of network hardware/virtual appliance or cloud service that protects businesses from security threats in a simplified way by combining and integrating multiple security and features. This would mean Just Eat can protect themselves further from potential threats such as DDOS attacks or leaking customer emails.

Ethics:

Just Eat state that they may transfer personal data to other countries that may have different data protection laws, Just Eat will implement appropriate safeguards to protect customer's personal information in different countries in accordance to their privacy notice. Just Eat value their customer's privacy and allow them to exercise their privacy rights.
